Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California
How will fiance' filing bankruptcy effect me??
My fiance' and I are getting married in a December. He is planning on filing bankruptcy this week. How will that effect me? Will his creditors try to come after me? Will the bankruptcy show on my credit report?

The bankruptcy should affect you only if you are a co-debtor with him on some or all of his debt. It will certainly affect his credit, which could have an effect when you apply for credit together after you're married. You'll also have to be careful after you're married about his credit, as you could also be responsible for much of the debt he incurs after you're married.
