Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California

How can a writ of levy be stopped from a debt discharged?

How can I stop a levy on my deposit account from an assignee who purchased a judgement from 7/98 that was discharged in 12/99? The bank accepted this Levy because the clerk did not know about the BK but has a copy now. The individual did have prior knowledge of the BK but chose to file anyway because a copy did not exist in the file at that time, but it does now. This is an urgent situation as the bank is holding my money and I am leaving the country for a vacation within 72 hours.

You may need an attorney to contact the creditor to have them release the money.
