501(c)(3) Organization
Is is legal for a 501(c)(3) organization to have DBA and collect money to benefit the 501(c)(3) organization? For example, Needy Seniors (the DBA) collecting money to benefit Church of Our Saviour?

You have to tell potential donors the truth, that their money is going to the Church of Our Savior.
Soliciting charitable donations in California is heavily regulated, see the Attorney General's website, http://www.ag.ca.gov
