Legal Question in Business Law in California
$2,650 in court costs awarded to me, how to collect?
I have been awarded $2,650 in court costs as a result of a memo of costs filed by my attorney where I was the prevailing party.
My attorney has been paid off and I want to collect these court costs myself instead of paying my attorney $250/hr to collect them.
I am familiar with collecting a small claims judgment as I've done it twice already (i.e. setting up a debtor's exam, filing abstract of judgment, making motion to garnish spouse, getting writ issued, serving earnings withholding order, setting up a keeper for a till tap, etc).
Is the process similar to collecting a small claims judgment? What is the first step I take to start collecting costs awarded by a court? Do I need to fill out and file any forms? Any advice would be appreciated.

Yes, it is exactly the same and you use the Judicial Council Forms
