Legal Question in Business Law in California
Advertising contract
I foolishly signed a contract that I wasn't clear on as to the terms. The contract is for advertising in ''church bulletins''. The ads have run weekly since 6-22-08 -- it is now August, and I have yet to receive a single response from any of these weekly ads.
I have told the company that I am unable to pay for these ads, and they simply tell me that the debt will continue to build until they finally send me to collections.
I am unemployed and have no source of income that will allow me to ''keep current'' on $3000 worth of advertising.
What do I do now?

Re: Advertising contract
That's a tough one. Don't forget that people are away for the summer. Send a certified return receipt letter and keep a copy, telling them you cannot afford it any longer and you no longer wish to advertise. At least you will give them official notice and they could try to sell the space to someone else. I advertised in a church bulletin years ago and I had the same result.
