Hours and pay cannot be taken away, nor pay levels reduced, after the hours are worked. An employer cannot decide, on Tuesday, to cut your Monday work from 8 hours at $20 an hour to 6 hours at $14 an hour, for example. However, on Tuesday the boss can tell the employee that on Wednesday that the employee will only work six hours and/or his pay will be cut to $14/hr.

This is assuming there is no union contract to the contrary.

As to favoritism based on favors (taking to lunch, sleeping with, etc.) I am not aware of any law that prohibits this outright.
