American Legion Membership Records
Are the membership records and the required proof needed to join the American Legion ( a non-profit 501 c 19) accessible by request through the public information act or any other way? Thank You

No. The American Legion is a private organization. Forcing it to make its membership lists available against the wishes of its members would violate their First Amendment rights. Besides, public information requests can only be made to the government.
