apartment security
are apartment complexes liable for stolen cars if they have security gates and security gaurds That I'm paying for in my monthly rent?

Probably not; your landlord is not your insurer. However, tenants occasionally win cases involving inadequate security at apartments. Usually you have to prove the landlord was negligent and/or behaved unreasonably with respect to tenant safety. If there are security precautions in place already, like gates and guards, it would be very hard to show the landlord was unreasonable or negligent. Perhaps there are specific facts such as the guards regularly sleep on duty or are in cahoots with the thieves.
