Legal Question in Business Law in California
Bounced Payroll checks
I work for an employer who no tonly bounced my payroll check but also bounced another employees check twice. I am now having to wait 7-10 business days for my checks to clear my bank account... Do I have any legal ground or who can I contact regarding this siutation while remaining anonymous?

Re: Bounced Payroll checks
I can think of two possible approaches. First, you could contact the District Attorney's office, since they have special programs for dealing with deliberate writing of NSF checks - and if an employer does this repeatedly, that's pretty good evidence that it's being done with knowledge that the checks are no good.
The other possibility is to contact the nearest office of the State's Labor Standards Enforcement Office of the Industrial Relations Department.
I don't know what your chances are of remaining anonymous. It's a basic concept of administering justice that you get to confront your accuser. On the other hand, maybe Labor Standards Enforcement can do something without revealing your identity.
