Legal Question in Business Law in California
business association agreement
I have a business with my husband and we are going to write and publish a cookbook for a chef who has his own business. We will not be forming a legal partnership with the chef but it was suggested that we write up an Association Agreement with the chef rather than a Partnership Agreement. I am looking for an example of what that agreement should contain. Thank you!!

Re: business association agreement
You mean a joint venture agreement, and - unless you want to inadvertendly end up in a general partnership with the chef (hint: you don't want to), then you need to seek professional assistance to have a custom drafted agreement appropriate for your circumstances drafted. I handle these sorts of matter, and, on the flip side, I also hear from and work with those who chose to skimp on legal work on the front end, and are paying for it dearly now that things have gone wrong.
