Do I need a business license?

Do I need a business license to sell my own clothing designs on an independent fashion website? I was planning to create a page on this website to sell clothes that I made. If I keep the page running and gain enough clients, would I need to get a business license?

If you are conducting a business, you'll need a license under the policies and practices of your city (or county, if in an unincorporated area). Making and selling stuff sounds like a business to me. You probably will need to collect sales tax and remit it to the State of California as well, so you'll need an account with the Board of Equalization.
