Legal Question in Business Law in California
California question; If a property management corp (C corp) starts out under a Brokers' licence, can the licence be changed? i.e.- I want to start my prop mgmt corp now, but I have to wait til May 2012 to get my Brokers licence. Can I piggyback off another persons Broker licence until I get mine, and then just change the licence, keeping everything else the same? Thank You!

Yes. The corp. will have to have a responsible managing employee or officer who holds a license, but anyone with the appropriate license can be substituted for the existing RME at any time.

Any corporation that engages in any activity that requires a broker's license must have a qualifying broker.
