Legal Question in Business Law in California
Copyright How-To-Books and Products Described in Books
Would I be infringing copyright laws if I create and sell products learned from a how-to book? Can I legally sell items I make using directions from a how-to book that is copyrighted (is it the book or the item described in the how-to book that is copyrighted - or both)? How much would I need to change the product for it to be sellable?

Re: Copyright How-To-Books and Products Described in Books
To give you a lawyerly answer, "it depends." From your question, I don't know what your products are or what kind of how to book you are using as a reference. Hence, I can't really tell you whether it would infringe or not. I'd be happy to discuss it further with you if you wish.
