Corporate File Possession

We hired an attorney to incorporate our small husband and wife business. The office will not give us the files. Do we have rights to those files or complete copies of the files?

Yes. The files are your property and you are entitled to their return. The lawyer is allowed to keep them long enough to make copies if he wants, but then he must give the originals to you.
