Corporation Names

California Non-profit Public Benefit Corporation. Main coprporate name - Santa Clara County Girls Athletics - Article 1 - The Organization: states, ''Lady Sharks Softball are namens established for use by traveling teams. Can I use, San Jose Lady Sharks Gold, Inc. as a new corporate name?

Well, the name sounds sufficiently different so that the California Secretary of State would not reject the attempt to form the proposed corporation. On the other hand, the name seems to resemble the name of the local professional hockey team so closely that there could be a trademark infringement issue. I would get prior written permission from the hocket team before incorporating.
