My cousin owes $16,000 and a pocket of chance on a 2006 chevy colbot 2 door she paid $12000 for it new but she hasnt made a payment in 2 years chevey lawer been contacting me they said if she seltted for $10,000 the dept will be earased but the contract never says anything based on if we get the tittle or not of the vechicle what should we do??? he thretend to take this to trail before the judge

I will need more information in order to advise you with accuracy. However, assuming that your cousin signed a written contract with Chevy, they would have up to four years from when your cousin stopped making payments to Chevy to assert a claim against your cousin for the remaining $16,000. If they were to file a claim against in court, Chevy would incur additional legal costs. Hence, they are now trying to settle the debt before incurring additional legal costs on their end.

Your cousin probably already has title in the vehicle, but I would need additional information before determining that.
