Does a dba have to be renewed? ?Every 5 years; whenever.

See Business and Professions Code sections 17900-17930 generally for the assumed and fictitious name registration requirements. Section 17920 says that a fictitious name statement expires five years from date of publication or, with certain exceptions, 40 days after any of the information therein becomes obsolete.
