Legal Question in Business Law in California

Deferred compensation contract

I'm writing a contract to defer payment for my PR services but I want to make sure I'm protected. Is there any legal terminology I should include to ensure I will get payment from the company either when funds are raised for the film or from the company personally at the end of 3 months.

Re: Deferred compensation contract

Unfortunately, no attorney can "give you words" without understanding the deal points and reading the entirety of the agreement. Yes, of course, there is legal language that may represent the best possible protection of your position. I would encourage you to have the agreement reviewed. If you're concerned about legal costs, agree on a budget up front. Having a good agreement reduces the risk of non-performance for those three months of time you're investing. Best wishes for success in your venture.
