Legal Question in Business Law in California
I distribute a Hawaiian branded coffee. I also operate 3 coffee shops under this brand. In addition, I have an ecommerce website where I sell this Hawaiian coffee (at full suggested retail). The parent company is telling me not to sell their products online any longer. They say I can only link those products to their ecommerce website (and they will pay me a 5% royalty on sales if the customer comes through my website). They are allowing some of their customers to continue to sell online without these restrictions. Can they legally do this? Do I have to comply? They are asking me to sign a contract.
Thank you!
Larry

Probably, but it depends on what your contracts say. You may want to review them with a lawyer. The company might agree to a new contract that would let you continue selling the coffee online even if your current contracts don't give you that right.
