Legal Question in Business Law in California
Edison is about to cut off the service to my house
I hired a lincensed contractor to upgrade and relocate the electrical pannel and meter. Edison did not approve the new location where the contractor move the pannel to. The contractor had to use a 6X4 in the middle of my back yard to temporary install the pannel and the city did sign approval(pass), SCE (edison) disaproved, asking for a 6X6. Contractor complied. SCE then request him to go to SCE to pay $270 to apply for temporary service when I have another contractor buiding an addition room for me starting next week. The contractor does not agree to do so and SCE told me they will shut down the power to my house. Please help and let me know :
1- What can I do to prevent this from happening ?
2- Does SCE have the RIGHTS to cut off service in this situation ?
I know I can just pay $270 but where is the LAW, the JUSTICE ?
Thank you in advance for your kindness to show me the right way to handle this problem.
Best regards

You should pay the $270 and deduct it from what you owe the electrical contractor. He's the one who relocated the panel without prior approval of the DWP. Good Luck.
