Legal Question in Business Law in California
What are we entitled to?
After working for the same business for over 30 years the new owners (less than 1 year) have decided to fold the business. This comes out of the blue since only a few months ago they were talking to us about expanding the business and raises. I am 50 years old and have never been given any kind of insurance threw this business or retirement fund. They say we are closing shop in a few weeks and that they are going to give us 1 week servance pay-arent we entitled to more than that? I mean Ive worked my blood sweat and tears for this company for over 30 years and all they are going to give us ''goodbye'' is 1 week severenace pay? what can we do about this if anything/

Re: What are we entitled to?
Do you have some sort of contract with them, or anything in writing, that says that they have to give you more than 1 week severance pay, or that there is a pension plan?
