Exchange shoe with brand name company AABB

I talked to AABB in EMAIL to exchange a pair of AABB sandal for different size I bought years back.

I attached the photo of sandal to show AABB customer service, after verifying how the shoe looks both from top and the bottom(unwear /new condition). The AABB customer service emailed me

the authorization number and instructions on shipping the shoe to AABB company for exchange.

AABB customer service emailed me back after receiving the shoe. First, I was ask the reason for exchange, and was told the shoe is of moath smell etc. I said again I'd like to exchange for different size, and when I shipped the shoe there is no smell like that. Then next EMAIL they said the style of the shoe is old so the shoe is not in resale condition, so they can't exchange for it. I attached the original emails of Authorization of exchange to tell them that they already verified the style of the shoe before I was asked to ship it, and I already paid shipping fee. Next Email they started to say again because of the smell of the brand-new shoe, they can't exchange for it. I asked to talk to manager, but can't. The original shoe is returned to me without exchanging. I paid shipping fee for nothing. May I ask for some help/suggestions, Can I sue them

Yes, you can sue them. You might even win.

How much money are you out? $20? Can you prove it?

It would cost hours of your time to prepare, serve and prosecute even a small-claims action, assuming you could get jurisdiction over the seller in a California court.

Why bother? You'll end up behind even if you win. Your provable damages are minuscule.
