Legal Question in Business Law in California
exclusive duplication rights
Hello,
I have a contract clause regarding media reproduction that gives reproduction rights exclusively to one party. The contract was made in California and that state is the agreed upon law and venue. Do the exclusive reproduction rights apply worldwide or only in the USA? There is no mention of worldwide or international instances, only that one party has exclusive duplication rights.
Thank you for your time and assistance.

Re: exclusive duplication rights
A review of the whole contract would be necessary to give a complete legal opinion, but from your question it would be my approach that exclusive means exclusive. There was no need to define the geographic reach of the word exclusive as it speaks for itself. Again though, this needs to be analyzed in light of the entire contract. Feel free to contact me if you would like a free consultation.
Yours truly,
Bryan
