Re: Finder's Fee Agreement or Contract; Form
I've noticed that LawGuru has a "Find Forms" link; I believe we sell forms. Don't know if you'd find what you need, however.
Finder's fee agreements are a little tricky, because it is often difficult to collect on them, and threfore careful wording is essential. I would lean toward recommending an attorney-drafted form in this situation.
Among the problems is whether a license is needed for the type of service to be provided. For example, if real estate or business opportunity sales will result from you work, you may be OK if your services are properly limited, but you may get trapped into handling some aspect that requires a license, in which case the other party may raise your lack of a license as a defense to any obligation to pay you fee. There are other such traps for the unwary.
