Legal Question in Business Law in California
I'm a freelancer. I had a working relationship with a client for 8 years, but that relationship has ended. He owes me a relatively small sum (under $1500) and is balking at making payment. What legal options do I have to ensure timely payment? We do not have a signed contract, but do have a long history of payment based on invoices.

This is just the type of situation we have Small Claims Court for. Check with your local court for a small claims advisor, see the Nolo Press book, or see http://limitedscopecounsel.com/small-claims/
