Legal Question in Business Law in California
fundraising
I am a May 07 law school graduate and was approached by a close friend who's 4 year old brother recently received 3rd degree burn over 50% of his body in an accident. She needs to know what steps to take in order to begin raising funds in the community for his recovery which will be very long and very painful. Any advice will be greatly appreciated and will make it to the ears of a wonderful person who is in need...much appreciated.

Re: fundraising
I can't be much help, but I would observe that all concerned must avoid any suggestion that donations are tax-deductible. Donations to a particular individual aren't deductible, as far as I know.
Re: fundraising
We greatly empathize with your friend's brother's health condtion. If you want to email us with how much funds you are trying to raise, we should be able to help you.
