Legal Question in Business Law in California
Hair salon
I asked beautician to use the Thermo-Ionic Japanese hair straightening method to permanently straighten my hair. Cost was $350.00. The process takes 5-6 hours because the PH is low and it should be weak.
The hair dresser finished my hair in one and a half hour. It turned out that she used a stronger process that was not meant for thin hair so she can speed up the process. She had lied to me and said she used the other process.
The results: I lost a lot of hair, it had to be shortened and the rest of hair is frizzy and worse than I first walked in salon.

Re: Hair salon
as much as a judge wishes to give you u to $5 thousand. recently tho a woman collected $150 thousand in another state under different circumstances. before i would sue in small claims i would consult with an attorney to possibly make a claim on your behalf in am amount of more than allowed in small claims if, and only if your case warrents and justifies such a claim --- i am in the sf bay area and if you wish to consult with me 925-945-6000
Re: Hair salon
I have done two hair cases -- against the same salon -- involving burns from straightening and perm solutions. What you're talking about, mostly, is residual effects on your hair, embarassment, humiliation, and general emotional distress. It would be worth talking to an attorney -- and perhaps visiting a hair specialist -- to find out how long it would take to return to normal (if ever), and what that's worth. Of course, if you're in the modeling profession or have a lot of public contact, the humiliation factor can be immense. Good luck to you!
