Legal Question in Business Law in California
I hired a limo service for my daughters13th bday. An hour and a half before the scheduled arrival time they called and told me that they were not coming. The explanation was that there was a problem with the vehicle that i had contracted for. As a result I had to scramble to rent a large vehicle for all the teens, pay a driver, be late for the photo shoot we had scheduled, and ultimately paid about $400 to resolve the issues from their frailure to show up....is the company liable for these costs?

Most likely yes, less what it would have cost you if they had showed up.
Although I don't handle cases of this kind, I do seem to recall that courts sometimes award damages for mental distress in a breach of contract case of this kind....might be worth discussing with a lawyer experienced in this particular kind of breach of contract case.
