Legal Question in Business Law in California

I am an idependent distributor, selling Sara Lee bread in San Diego, 3 1/2 years ago Sara Lee San Diego gave me a store for me to serve, te store was out of my territory but they didnt care, they wanted to start service in Smart & Final, and they looked for me to give a good impression, and to open a new market for our produc, they told me the store was mine , I invested over $14,000.00 to purchase a truck, to be able to serve the store properly, the value of the store at the beginig was $0.00 Dollars, now they are taking te store away, its valued at $32,000.00, an they dont want to compensate any money to me, they told me that they made a mistake, that the teritory where the store is located belongs a nother Distributor,and that next saturday December 10 of 2011 is my last day at the store, I feel thet used me to win the contract, I feel they lied to me, I invested time, money, efford to build the value of the store, and the store was never mine. is this right?

It depends. They told you the store was yours, and then they told you they made a mistake. Do you have anything in writing?

If the facts are exactly as you say, and the baker has no excuses, defenses or other facts that would show a different picture, this is theoretically a winnable lawsuit. However, I am concerned that a portion at least of the assignment to you was oral (not in writing) and that the costs of litigation would be relatively high in relation to your potential damages. I do recommend that you sit down with an experienced business lawyer to discuss the costs and risks of suit as well as the chances of recovering damages or keeping the customer.
