Legal Question in Business Law in California
Independent Contractor Question
Hi, thank you for taking the time to answer my question. What are the legalities involved in having an independent contractor travel to another country (i.e. Mexico) to perform a job? How does the relationship change, if at all?

Re: Independent Contractor Question
Your question cannot be answered fully without your providing full details, but one part of the answer is that any foreigner entering any foreign country, e.g. a U.S. citizen entering Mexico, probably cannot legally perform compensated services there without a permit or proper visa such as a work permit or visa allowing the holder to engage in a business, trade or occupation while in Mexico. The same would be true of most countries.
