independent contractor rental rasie
I am an independent contractor, I rent a booth in a hair salon. My rent was $86 a week and it was raised to &150 a week. We were given a month notice. Is a $64 raise legal?

I don't know of any statewide law that would affect your rights or the shop owner's rights. Eeverone's rights would be entirely depend on the contract. If the contract doesn't afford you any protection against price increases, I don't see that you have any ground for complaint. The laws applying to residential rentals and leases don't apply to commercial settings (for the most part, at least).
There are some appellate court decisions holding that a business that becomes a dealer for a manufacturer cannot have the dealership revoked before the dealer has a chance to recoup its investment in signs and advertising, and you might be able to make a similar argument if you have invested a lot of money in customizing your space or advertising, but I'm very unsure a court would accept the reasoning.
There might also be a "bait-and-switch" kind of argument. Still, I don't see a court as likely to give you any relief against a rate increase.
