My landlord recently signed a new lease over to my mother in law transfering the business to here recently. The lease was back dated to October 2011, one day after I signed the new lease. I am still responsible for the business

Although your question is confusingly worded so that one cannot really tell what's happened, I'd advise you that one does not ordinarily lose responsibility for the conduct of his business, including liability for its debts, due to another person's actions.

Your question is very confusing and it is impossible to tell what is actually going on. But your landlord cannot take your business away from you just by forging a document. You need to see a local attorney for further assistance.
