If one is sued ,does his foreign assets or investments also be frozen or just what he has here in U.S.A.?

Also after a lien is placed on a property, how long would it take to be cleared or does it ever clear? thanks

Re: lawsuit foreign assets

If the lawsuit is filed in California state court, then it can only be used to go after assets in California. However, the judgment creditor can register the judgment in other states where you have assets and enforce the judgment there.

If the assets are located in a foreign country, the judgment can be registered there if that country has signed the appropriate treaty.
