Legal Question in Business Law in California

Lawyer specialty

What type of lawyer should one consult if a general contractor has taken most of the contract money to pay for a home addition and does not show up to work (comes 2 days a month and is past end date) or does not do an adequate job when he does show up to work. Would it be an abusive specialist (abuse with the use of one's money) or reality specialist, or?????

Re: Lawyer specialty

Mr. Drescher is right - there are some of us that

specialize in construction litigation. Also, you

can contact the Contractors State License Board

and file a complaint. It sounds like the

contractor may have violated some of the disciplinary

provisions of the Contractor's license law. In

that case, you may also have a possibility of

some recovery from the contractor's license

bond, if you can prove damages based on his

failure to prosecute the contract.

The foregoing information is provided as an

accomodation only, and cannot be considered

specific legal advise based on a comprehensive

review of all relevant facts or documents. Further

provision of the information can not be construed

as creating an attorney-client relationship.
