Legal Question in Business Law in California

Is it legal to say your a lawyer when you are not entilted

Hi, I was wondering if it is legal to represent yourself as a lawyer when California State Bar Association says you are not entitled to practice. The reason I ask this is because I work for a company that works with a lot of clients who are lawyers and we have any employee that use to be a lawyer but was disbarred and now is not entitled. He is continuously miss representing himself to our clients. He says hes a lawyer to get himself in the door. He even has his law degree hanging in his office. Is this legal and if not who do I contact to report it? Can I remain anonymous? I dont want to get in trouble with my boss but on the other hand this is not fair to lie to other people just to make a buck.

Not it is not.

You can report it to the State Bar but they have no authority over non lawyers; therefore you would report it to the district attorney.

I would also urge you to write an anonymous letter to your local district attorney.

By doing so, this person could jeopardize your entire company's operations. Additionally, it should be reported to the State Bar, in case this person ever tries to seek reinstatement.
