Is it legal for a treasurer of a membership club to post to the general membership the list of those that have not paid their dues?

As long as the information is accurate, there is nothing to prohibit a publication of the information. In a rare situation, where the membership club involves a cause that is very personal and private, the disclosure of private information may be actionable. For example, if you were in a drug rehabilitation program and the program disclosed your participation to the public, you may have an action. As another example, if you are in some kind of organization that deals with financial problems and your non-payment of dues is particularly embarrassing, there may be an action.
