Legalities of operating under a DBA

If my company has a DBA it operates under, which is other than the name that the corporation legally formed under, can a customer write a check for moniey he owes us to either the corporation (legal name incorporated under) or the DBA name? Can we change our contracts to have the DBA name on any new ones we write?

Yes you can. The only catch is the bank may want you to open a seperate account for the DBA in order to cash checks.
