Legal Question in Business Law in California

Liabillity

I'm starting a food fight company. Will I be okay with having participans sign a waver or do I need liabillity insurance? Also, do I have to be concerned about health department issues even though the food is not for consumption?

I wouldn't run ANY business without liability insurance!

Re: Liabillity

Do you mean a food fight company like Lambert's Cafe (throwedrolls.com) in Sikeston, MO, where they throw rolls, or more like San Francisco where they throw Cool Whip and lick it off one another? No, don't answer that. You would of course need liability and workers' comp insurance, if you can get it.

Because your patrons are fighting with food as opposed to some other substance, whatever is on the menu, or the patrons for that matter, will have to be edible, wholesome, and licensed by the health department.
