Legal Question in Business Law in California
A two member LLC: the two partners get married.
What needs to be done? The operating
agreement has the wife's maiden name
on it, does it need to be amended?
What needs to be filed with the
state/fed?

I would suggest filing a Form LLC-12 with the Secretary of State. If the LLC is current with its (LLC-12) biennial statements of information, the amended LLC-12 can be filed without charge. The form is available on the Secretary of State's Web site at www.ss.ca.gov.

Additionally, consult your CPA about whether the LLC is now a disregarded tax entity, and if not, whether it should elect to be treated as such.
