Memeberships

Can an organization that you join prevent you from selling you membership by any means nessasary. They state that you cannot sell the membership via print or electronic means. This is not a signed contract and the memberships are in upwards of $5000 dollars

Membership in an organization is a privilege bestowed by the organization on the member, at least usually. Some organizations choose to have open membership, but not most. For example, if I am a member of the United States Senate, I can't sell you my seat. This is a pretty extreme example, but the principle applies right down the line to the local golf club or volunteer fire department.

What you describe is perfectly legal. Whether this particular organization can apply these restrictions to you will depend upon the terms of your membership agreement, but there is nothing inherently illegal about such restrictions.
