There is no minimum to file in small claims court in California.

Sure; be sure to ask for your costs in addition to your damages. Costs are filing and service of process fees and the like.

Under the law, there's no specific or fixed amount or minimun amount for monetary claims because any person who is aggrieve by any person can sue to avoid injustice.
