Legal Question in Business Law in California

Minor in Possession - will i get my license revoked?

Last night I recieved and Minor in Possession ticket, specifically a ticket with the code 25662B+P. I was walking in the street and two policemen pulled up and gave me and my friend, who was 21, tickets. Mine was specifically the MIP plus having an open container in the street. I need to know what the real world punishments are for this crime. Keep in mind that I am just going to school here in Los Angeles, and this is my first offense. I really would hope that this doesn't get my license revoked. What are the chances of that happening? Does this stay on my permanent record as an arrest?

25662B+P refers to section 25662 of the Business and Professions Code. That section describes what you were doing, specifies that it is a misdemeanor, and prescribes two possible punishments: (1) a $250 fine, or (2) 24 to 32 hours' community service at a drug and alcohol treatment facility or at the coroner's office.

The penalty for second and further offenses is a $500 fine.

If you had been discovered with an alcoholic beverage in a vehicle, you'd have come under Vehicle Code section 23224, which (if I recall correctly) carries a mandatory suspension of driving privileges.
