Money judgement
If i have not gone to court for a money judgement should i be sent to collections prior to that?

You don't say how the money judgment got entered. Did you file an answer to the complaint, or did you default?

Debts are normally sent to collection before the creditor sues the debtor, in the hope that the debt will be resolved out of court. Filing suit is usually the last resort. Were it otherwise, the expense and risk of litigation would encourage debtors to renege on their debts in the hope that the creditor would not bother to sue them.
