If you go on the news and show your badge with your organization name; are you now considered speaking for that company even though you stated you were only a volunteer?

Probably many in the news audience (was it TV?) will assume that you spoke "for the organization" in at least an informal sense. Many organizations rely heavily upon volunteers. However, in some "heavy duty" legal contexts it would not be held that you spoke for the organization as an authorized spokesperson. So, bottom line, it's hard to say for sure and the answer as to how you'd be considered may depend upon what exactly you said and how you were introduced by the interviewer as well as other factors not disclosed in your question.
