Are online lottery pools legal in California?
Can the money be collected online?
Since there are costs associated with the website maintenance, online money collection and other miscellaneous activities, can they be passed onto the members?

Gambling is illegal in California, with a few exceptions created by statute, such as horse racing and the state lottery, or by soverign rights, such as Indian casinos. Certain well-established nonprofit organizations are allowed by law to operate lotteries, raffles, bingo games, etc., but unless yours is a qualified organization it would be illegal to run the thing, sell tickets, etc.
