Legal Question in Business Law in California
pay raise
I was promised a raise by my boss. I signed a new Employment contract and when the pay day came I didn't receive any raise. When I looked at the contract I signe, the contract failed to mention the raise. What can I do?

Re: pay raise
Determine if it was a mutual mistake, i.e., both parties believed that the contract contained the raise, or a unilateral mistake, i.e., if only one party was mistaken. If both parties were mistaken the contract may be reformed to reflect the mistake. If only one party was mistaken, then the issue of whether or not the contract is enforceable, or voidable. Talk with your employer or contact me directly.
