Personal Effects held for storage fees in auto reposession
I had my car reposessed approx. 4 days ago. I called to schedule an appt to retrieve my personal items. And found out that my personal items had been removed from the vehicle and put in storage, for which the company wishes to charge me (per day) storage fees. According to a co-worker who used to work in the car impound industry, my personal effects shouldn't be removed until after a period of 30 days. And holding my items and charging a fee before the 30 days is illegal. Is he right? or am I going to have to pay the fees in order to get my stuff back?

Unfortunately they can charge you storage fees. Did you get the "48 Hour Notice?" see Bus and Prof Code 6507.10(f).
