Legal Question in Business Law in California

photographing customers who have been kicked out of a bar

I work in a bar. Sometimes we have to 86 certain customers for inappropriate behavior. Often these people are violent, abusive, and dangerous, and so it is important that we keep them from coming back. Since we have so many employees, it is difficult for everyone to keep track of who exactly has been 86'd, and sometimes one bartender will serve a customer who has been kicked out by another bartender. I want us to take polaroids of banned customers so that everyone on staff will know who is not allowed on the premises, but the bar owner thinks that this is not legal. Do we have the right to photograph people when they are in the bar? The pictures would not be posted for public viewing. We already have security video cameras everywhere and signs stating that fact, so I don't see how taking polaroids would be any different.

For the kind of use you described, there should be no problem.
