Can a police officer speed in a business area to catch a pedestrian jaywalking?? Isnt that considered a traffic violation in itself??

Law enforcement is immune from arrest and citation for speeding in the pursuit of official duties. Nabbing a jaywalker seems to be a minor abuse of the immunity, but I doubt that a judge will feel sympathetic unless there is more to the story.
