Legal Question in Business Law in California
protecting business ideas:
How does one protect a business idea from being "swiped" by other individuals or organizations? Are there legal organizations that specialize in setting up this type of protection? How can I get in contact with such organizations? What are the steps required to make a business franchisable and what does this gain me?

Re: protecting business ideas:
The standard way to protect yourself is to draft a non-disclosure agreement and before you discuss your idea with anyone have them sign it. any attorney should be able to draft a blank agreement for you that you can just copy and use over and over.
